Today we headed off to Kampala at the crack of dawn (well, not really but it was early), after picking up Prossy, to go to Frankie's hearing.
We thankfully avoided the jam (which was a miracle!) but when we turned up at the High Court were informed that the family court had moved. Oh! This was a half hour before our appointment so the next half hour was spent in a panic trying to find the darned place. With the help of one of our lawyers on the phone we made it in time. Whew!
The new family court is really nice as they have a nice waiting room for kids that we benefited from. Prossy was glad to see her tax dollars at work and not in someones pocket... Ella suprisingly started throwing a rip roaring fit right before we went into the judges chambers but thankfully she sucked it up and was fine during the hearing.
We had the same judge as for Ella - same stony face and after living in Uganda for four and a half years it is really hard to enter a room and not great everyone in it! She's a good gal though and we're not expecting any suprises. The order will be next Friday which we don't need to be there for.
After court we were able to find a new memory card at Garden City (a mall - maybe the only one in Kampala?) for my camera at an affordable price, which made my day. We rounded out our trip to Kampala by stuffing ourselves with Ethiopian food, then came home and watched a movie. Kampala is wearing place and I always come home with a headache and today it was muggy to boot. The traffic was not as bad as it could be on a Friday however, so we considered ourselves blessed!!
